There’s no replacement for displacement……but something with a lot of displacement makes for one bitchin’ replacement. In the following The Smoking Tire video, host Matt Farah meets up with a man named Karl who believes the same thing. He paid $1,201 for a Jaguar XJ8 LWB on Craigslist, then proceeded to fill its engine bay, which once held an English V8, with a 6.2-liter GM Performance LS3 crate motor fitted with such goodies as a Lingenfelter head conversion and titanium valves. Output soared to a staggering 575 horsepower – 488 of which run through the rear tires.Karl didn’t stop there, though. He had the exterior coated in a shade of brown available on the Audi R8 supercar and swapped out the seats for the beautifully quilted two-tone seats from an Audi S4. Between the two front buckets is a six-speed manual transmission with a striking gated shifter. The syncros in that gearbox are a little loud and the feel of the Jag’s brakes could use some work, but those issues don’t stop Farah from falling in love with this ferocious feline.Chime in with your thoughts on the forum. >>Follow @derekshiekhiTags: Jaguar, LS3, Matt Farah, Swaps, Video
