Right now, Porsche has a hypercar in its line-up, in the shape of the 918 hybrid. And a very fine hypercar it is too, combining four-wheel drive security and the potential for silent, all-electric pottering with one of the most feral race-derived engines on the planet. But how might the next generation of Porsche hypercar look, one apparently designed for a world without speedbumps or potholes? That"s the question answered by designer Kyashayar Jenabi in the form of the rather lovely 911 Solo.We must stress at this stage that this is in no way an official Porsche offering. Jenabi is a recent graduate of the prestigious Institute of Applied Arts and Design in Turin, Italy, and he"s clearly got some mad skillz. The 911 Solo combines traditional 911 design cues with flourishes from Porsche"s Mission E electric concept a concept confirmed this week for production with a healthy sprinkling of its iconic Moby Dick" 935 racer. Jenabi hasn"t specified what powertrain might underpin his creation, but any future hyper-Porsche is likely to embrace electrical propulsion in some capacity.
