Alpine has finally given us prices for the A110 and just as we expected, it"s around 50K for the Premiere Edition, of which all 1,955 examples were sold within five days of it going on sale. Its 51,805 asking price makes it more or less the same price as a Porsche Cayman S, which gets the option of a manual transmission (unlike the Alpine) and substantially more power (345bhp in the Porsche plays 249bhp in the Alpine). But the Alpine is much lighter than the Cayman (1,103kg vs 1,430kg), so their 0-62mph times are basically identical. The Alpine is more economical too, and because it"s a Premiere Edition, better equipped as standard. Getting the Porsche up to the same spec costs thousands.
