Europeans, feast your eyes on a car you cannot have. It"s the Cadillac CT5 - the Americans" answer to the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E-Class and Audi A6 - and it lookspretty good, if you ignore the really quite odd C-pillar. Set to be revealed at next month"s New York motor show, the CT5 is based on the same rear- and all-wheel drive Alpha" platform as the old ATS and, get this, the current Chevy Camaro. No V8 though, at least not yet. The standard engine will be a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder, with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 optional. Both get a ten-speed automatic gearbox. No power, performance or economy figures have been released. No pics of the interior yet, either, but we"re promised it"s going to be "high tech and high touch" - whatever that means - with a Bose stereo giving active noise cancellation tech.
