The first one is the fastest one. We have news that Aston Martin and Quintessence Yachts" first production AM37 powerboat has been completed for a customer in Miami.Yup, the 1.6m AM boat is heading to Florida. Cue Will Smith"s Miami. The rather gorgeous powerboat was announced at last year"s Monaco Boat Show, available as either a gran turismo" with twin 370bhp diesel or petrol engines, or the range-topping AM37 S". This is the one you really want, because it gets a pair of twin 520bhp Mercury Racing petrol engines. It"s the version the first customer has correctly optioned, along with a raft of personalisation options via Aston"s Q division. We"re talking blue and cream truffle upholstery with chrome detailing, a convertible sofa, a matt Lace-wood table, and a champagne cooler finished in blue carbon fibre. There"s more, too. The first AM37 S gets air conditioning, Axius Joystick Piloting (helps deliver "superb manoeuvrability", while also sounding excellent), and underwater lights in the hull. That latter bespoke option is now available for future owners. In fact, "with so many options available", Quintessence boss Mariella Mengozzi says, "we are confident that there will never be two identical AM37s".That"s certainly true if you consider another AM37 currently in the build process. A Swiss customer has requested his AM37 to match his Aston Martin Vantage AMR supercar, with the bulkheads and cabinetry finished in Charcoal Lacquer", and grey suede headlining and window bands. It even gets additional engine room sound insulation, to comply with the noise rules on Swiss lakes.Should you be considering one and seriously, if you"ve got an Aston and want to take the next step, why the hell aren"t you? you"ll be pleased to know all AM37s get a sliding cockpit, plus nav, control monitor and entertainment all contained within a 15in touchscreen. It"s built from much carbonfibre and other composite materials, too.So, tell us how would you customise your AM37 powerboat?Top Gear gets a hotride in Aston Martin"s 1.6m AM37 powerboat - full storyShare this page: FacebookTwitterGoogle+WhatsAppMailtoCopy link
