Want a restomod that isn"t yes, that"s right isn"t based on an old Porsche 911? Well, your luck"s in if you"ve got a 200k- 300k budget. Yep, restomods don"t come cheap. But British supercar dealer and sometime car tuner Clive Sutton has graduated from merely giving the new right-hand drive Ford Mustang unholy amounts of supercharged power, and is attempting to follow in the footsteps of Singer"s reimagined Porsche 911s The GT500CS is the result. This first example is based on a 1967 Fastback chassis, but virtually every component has been restored or modified. Once the chassis has taken a 360-degree spin on a rotisserie job, brand-new body panels are applied, finished in paint hues from Ford"s 2018 palette, not its 1967 selection (though we"d imagine you could have whatever colour scheme you like leopard print, Peppa Pig, you name it). Following the modern trend for deleting chrome (Audi black pack, anyone?), the exterior brightwork"s been toned down with a powder-coating satin-black finish, matching the 18-inch alloys.
