The runaway train of new Mercedes-AMGs continues. Today it"s the turn of the GLC and GLC Coupe SUVs, which have spawned refreshed versions of the AMG 43. These are the sensible, quite-fast V6 ones, not the blood"n"thunder, cartoonishly fast V8 AMG 63 ones. Got it? Good. So, here"s what"s new. Headlights and taillights have new LED shapes. Big whoop. Up front, the slatted AMG grille appears to give the GLC 43 some face-end attitude to scare away anyone who might dare ask so you couldn"t afford the V8, then?". At the back, there are four round tailpipes. At the side, a different style of alloy wheel. Under the bonnet live more horses. Twenty-three more, in fact, lifting the twin-turbo V6"s muscle to 385bhp, thanks to bigger turbos and a software remap. Both versions of the GLC 43 get from 0-62mph in a brisk 4.9 seconds, and are limited to 155mph flat out. So, it"s pretty much exactly as fast as it was before, but it looks a bit more butch.
