The new Top gear

So whats everyone thoughts on the new Top Gear?
Have you watched it?
If so what did you think?
If not - why not?

I tried it on the first episode, and after only 3mins turned it off - I just can't stand Chris Evans.
From the reviews I have read, many feel the same. Which is a shame as apparently Matt Le Blanc is very good as a presenter.

Viewing figures are dropping very quickly with last nights falling below 2m and being beaten by the Antiques Roadshow for the 2nd time in two weeks - absolutely dismal compared to the Clarkson/Hammond/May years.

I think its unfortunate that the new Clarkson/Hammond/May show, The Grand Tour, is on Amazon. I'm forced to pay the BBC for a licence when the only (total truth - the only program ever watched on BBC was Top Gear) program they ever had worth watching was TG, and I'm not going to pay Amazon in addition.

Here's an idea - let get a referundum going on whether the BBC licence is worth paying for or whether they should advertise instead.

I must admit I do watch antiques roadshow. Always prefered that over top gear. A lot of friends dont watch top gear anymore when they used to. Probably time for the show to stop.
 
Think this new top gear needs time to evolve look at how long old top gear went on for i think it is evolving slowly but at a very slow speed and yes chris evns neeeds to take a back seat and let the other presents progress into the show and mybe change the format a little instead of copying old top gear just a thought and do more american car's not just high end supercar's
 
The point to consider though, is the viewing figures. The Clarkson/Hammond/May years never even got close to viewing figures that low. For new TG to be below 2m after only 6 (?) epsiodes is spectacularly bad.
I'm sure some will argue that iplayer etc are skewing the figures, but I doubt its that much. It would be interesting to see viewing figures for "The Grand Tour" but apparently Amazon are not going to release them.

Perhaps the BBC need a TG special in which Chris Evans play no part or and makes no appearance. Advertise it well in advance and see if the viewing figures go up. My bet? They would.

Top gear extra much better than top gear and I recon that the presenters will end up doing top gear as they are petrol heads. Think in this weeks one they summed up the new mustang perfectly !!!!

Interesting to hear what they said about the Mustang. Would it be something along the lines that its not American as the steering wheel on the wrong side, and it looks like a Jag crossed with a Nissan?
 
Nope more along the lines that the old one are not that great and the new one ain't that great and to easy now to get.and that having an American car you need to go though the pain!! Out of the three that he drove 67 fastback, ecoboost & 5.0v8 he drove home in the 67 with the pain because that's wots it about.....
