They"ve only gone and done it. The futuristic Robocar has managed to complete the Goodwood Festival of Speed"s hillclimb autonomously. It becomes the first ever self-driving car to have done so. The Roborace team sent the Robocar for a test run earlier this morning, where it managed the run without the assistance of a safety driver. A brief recap on the tech powering Robocar: there are four electric motors, a total of 500bhp, a variety of computer processors and LiDAR, radar, GPS, ultrasonic and camera sensors. The shape of course, comes from the mind of Daniel Simon, who"s previously worked at Volkswagen, Bugatti, and the smaller matter of the vehicles from the Tron movie.
