An art gallery in Switzerland is showing off a collection of model cars. No, the art world isn"t suddenly cottoning on to the excellence of Matchbox"s finest, but rather, these scale-model works of art come via French sculptor Antoine Dufilho.Dufilho has apparently merged his "passion for cars with principles from his studies in medicine and architecture", to create eight 75cm long cars based on some of the most iconic motors to have ever graced the planet. They"re being displayed at the M.A.D.Gallery under the title Sequential. The artworks are said to accentuate" the classic curves of coveted automobiles", which gives some indication as to which cars he"s chosen to immortalise. He works out of a workshop in northern France, and sources materials from within 30km of his studio.Said materials include metals, wood, resin and of course, some paint. Because of the intricacies of each individual model"s lines and design, the build time varies from model to model. But we suspect a significant amount of it has gone into creating them."This sequenced representation provides a kinetic effect as the observer views the piece from different perspectives, causing the sensation of a static object in movement," Dufilho says about his project.Have a scroll through the gallery, and marvel at some proper car art, including the Aston Martin DB5, E-Type Jag and Bugatti Atlantic. We"ll kick off with Dufilho"s take on the Auto Union racer from the 1930s
