For some time now well, for about 10 years. I wanted a purple 4th gen trans-am. I brought this actual photo to car club..

back then i knew i couldn't afford the 4th Gen so I got my 3rd Gen painted that colour, and it looked awesome.

Looks so nice when the sun light reflects off of it. This used to be gun metal grey.

Well at Thorny Island someone offered me ?4k cash for it. I never dreamed of selling it, but that put a thought in my mind so in Sept 2002 i brought my current car. Now as Paul has his Paint Shop I'm very tempted to go for this colour again.

I would still go for stripes, but maybe painted on instead.

differant, what about ghosting strips? think that the right name for them? what about using photo shop to try 1st?? just a thought

Good idea, I may just do that.

much better i dont like red

I am with you Shaun with the Red. Too common plus more accidents happen in red cars. I know that for a fact as when i had my beast of a mini metro all those years ago, I was like a running target for idiots in those days. Or it could be the fact i had just passed my test and was a girl racer - who knows!!!!

I've been lucky so far accident wise, 2 weeks after the car was road legal in March 2003, some girl drove into the side of me on a roundabout, she only passed her test 3 weeks before. Totally her fault for changing lanes and not looking.
However the plus side of the red car is coming up behind people on the motorway and they seem to pull over when they see I'm coming, not sure if that's because its red though. I've had red now for 9.5 years, so maybe time for a change. Red cars with Stripes go faster too. lol Maybe purple will be just as quick. Darrens is pretty quick when he shot past me on the way back from the brekkie run in Selsey, sounded good to, and that's Purple.

Ok !! not wishing to burst any bubbles here BUT it really dont matter what colour your car is, it only goes as fast as the driver, aint that right daisy duke and Dan ???? I personally like red but must say the bat will look lovely in the purple, so you paint your car whatever colour you like Dan, it will still go fast and fighten the living .... out of anyone you take for a ride in it lol xxxxx

hi dan , i think u should keep it red , purple is more of a 70s color , thats why darrens car looks good , spend the cash on a big block , or other engine mods .

It does need repainting at some point, as many panels no longer match, also a bit of touchup is needed.

Was thinking of a 389 stroker kit, forged internals, for next engine mod. 6.4L :)
