A 700-horsepower Camaro can break a lot of things: another driver’s confidence at the strip, a lap record, the bank, even itself. Youtube user James Towers knows that last part all too well. He was taking his 12-year-old son for a ride in his souped-up Camaro Z28 when smoke started rising from under the center tunnel. Large, orange flames followed, lashing out at both the father and his son. In a comment on the footage, Towers said, “Yes… me and my 12 year old were going for a cruise and he was taking the video with my phone… fuel line cap blew off and sprayed fuel into the firewall and the fire came up into the interior of the car. We got out with only a couple of minor burns… ”Thankfully it wasn’t any worse than that for the pair. The Camaro, though? That’s in much rougher shape, although it’s not a completely lost cause.
