You may be familiar with the work of Jim and Mike Ring. They"re the co-founders of Ringbrothers, the Wisconsin-based firm famed for putting silly power and carbon fibre bodies on America"s finest and oddest muscle cars of old, plus fabricating other oddities like 900bhp Winnebagos. But this Frankenstein F-100 pick-up has caught our attention. Nicknamed Clem 101", it"s a 1954 Ford F-100 that"s made love with a 1956 Ford F-100 then had an affair with a Crown Vic while cheating on a new Mustang. It all began when the two brothers saw a ratty 1954 truck and wanted to give it a modern-day makeover. So they bought it. But then they saw a better 1956 version, so bought that too. Then they cut them both up, took the best bits from both (grille from the "54, cab from the "56, for example) and amalgamated them into one super-truck. The wheelbase has also been extended by seven inches thanks to the addition of a Ford Crown Victoria subframe, which had to be narrowed by five-inches to fit the F-truck. Then it was widened by three more inches so some HRE Vintage Series wheels could slot in to complement the amazing stance gifted by RideTech coilovers and four-link rear suspension, with a custom QA1 sway bar up front.
