For the time being, this "Iconic" special edition slots in at the top of the Renault Twingo range, and sadly, it isn"t the Renaultsport version that we really want. Instead, it goes for more equipment over more speed, with seemingly every item in the Renault parts bin thrown at it.For 14,595, you get some fairly comprehensive upgrades both inside and out. There"s unique "mint-green" paint and some decals to spice up the looks, whilst the interior gains DAB, heated seats and sat nav.Other changes come in the form of a fabric-folding sunroof and automatic headlights and wipers, the latter helping add a touch of higher-end tech. Crosshatched half-leather upholstery is also there, as well as heated door mists to get rid of the pesky early-morning condensation. All in, there"s a decent saving of 740 when kit is compared to being optioned on separately to a lower model. The unusual rear-engine, rear-wheel drive layout remains (no bad thing at all), and the Iconic retains the 0.9l three-cyl present in other Twingos. Don"t be fooled by its size it"s good for 90bhp and 0-60 in 10.8 seconds, plenty for whizzing round city centres, and also chucks out less than 100g/kg of CO2 and 65.7mpg.Good effort, Renault. Now give us the RS version.Words: James SmalleyShare this page: FacebookTwitterGoogle+WhatsAppMailtoCopy link
