Ford is back at Le Mans this year. It"s arguably the story of the race, its new GT supercar taking aim at the GT class with the target of toppling Ferrari, just like the original GT40 did 50 years ago.Predictably, then, Ford is going big in its preparations. But it"s also going small, too, in the shape of this 1:3 scale model of its lead 2016 entrant, car number 66."The form of the car is very strange but very exciting," says its builder, Pascal. Scrutinise the effort he"s put into the front dive planes and rear diffuser and it"s easy to see what he means.The car was built bottom upwards, with the wheels done first. Pascal says the logos were the hardest part, the mixture of blue and white and Ford"s intricate script no doubt to blame.In total, the new GT is made of 40,000 bricks and weighs around 40kg.
