JLR"s Special Ops division hasn"t quite killed off third-party tuners. Not yet, anyway. This one"s from Overfinch a company that"s been doing up Range Rovers since the mid-Seventies. It"s called the London Edition, for reasons which, if you"ve already flicked through the gallery up top, should be immediately apparent. Inlaid into the many bits of wood inside the Rangie are depictions of some of London"s most famous buildings, like Tower Bridge, the Shard, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament. The veneers, which are all unique, even feature little red London buses and in some cases, Mother of Pearl inlays. All told, the London Edition has more than 5,500 pieces of veneer. Each piece of the cityscape was hand-cut and laid onto the American burr Walnut background a process which took hundreds of man hours to complete.
