The Ferrari 488 GTB is fast. With a twin-turbo, 661bhp V8 powering what"s meant to be Ferrari"s baby supercar, it was never going to be anything else.Yet for some, that"s not enough. And by some", we"re specifically referring to VOS Performance. Those initials stand for Vision of Speed, a speed which is likely to lie considerably north of the standard 488"s 205mph top end and somewhere south of its 3.0sec 0-62mph time. Why? Because VOS has given the 488 GTB a healthy dose of extra power. A 230bhp dose. Yep, Ferrari"s baby has been boosted to as-near-as-makes-no-difference 900bhp. Yikes. The torque figure, meanwhile climbs from 561 to 671lb ft. The end result, says VOS, is 217mph-plus", which is the top speed Ferrari quotes for the LaFerrari. Perhaps the German tuner"s vagueness is to avoid upsetting the makers of its donor carSuch prodigious power is freed via a new stainless steel exhaust system, an upgraded air filter and lots of ECU tweaks. In total, it"ll set you back around 12,000. You can"t buy a car with 230bhp for that sort of money, so we"re calling it good value. If 900bhp scares the bejesus out of you, then worry not, for it"s the result of choosing VOS"s stage 3" upgrade. Its stage 1 and 2 upgrades respectively take the 488 to a far less eye-widening 750 or 830bhp. We"re surprised the car can even move with such pifflingly small amounts of power. To ensure your ludicrously powered 488 stands out on the Gumball starting grid, VOS can also provide a visual makeover, and as you might expect, its snazzier spoilers and skirts are all crafted from carbon fibre. Most notable is a new fixed rear wing, while the wheels are 21 inches in size. It"s a fairly simple question, really. Love it or loathe it?
