This is a jet-powered drag-racing Peel

When the Peel Trident was launched way back in 1965, it packed around 4bhp. This particular Peel Trident has more, a fact explained by the lengthy, glowing protuberance poking from its rear.

It's a jet engine. And with that jet engine, this is the fastest Peel... in the world. How fast? 78.48mph over a quarter mile.
That's glacially slow by drag-racing standards, but plenty quick enough in a car small enough to successfully navigate the corridors of our old office.
Launched in 1965, the Trident was the ‘sporty' version of the Peel P50, the world's smallest production car. And since Peel was resurrected in 2010, you can again buy it, um, 'new'. A 3.6bhp, 28mph, fully road-legal Trident will cost you £13k. One with a jet, more. This isn't exactly a factory-fit option.
We suspect this jet-Peel has about as much to do with a standard one as Stig does with anything that isn't wringing stuff around our track. But no matter. Because freakin' jets.
