Welcome to the first of many new plug-in hybrid Audis - the Q5 55 TFSI e quattro. Let"s decode the name. Q5 means, well, it"s a Q5 - a medium-sized SUV, Audi"s answer to the likes of the BMW X3, Mercedes GLC and Volvo XC60. Read the review by clicking right here. Per the company"s new naming system, the 55" relates to power, TFSI e" means it"s petrol/electric, and quattro signifies all-wheel drive. Available to order in June priced from around 55,000, the plug-in Q5 pairs a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with a 105kW electric motor and 14.1 kW battery positioned under the boot floor. Total system output is a not-at-all shabby 362bhp and 369lb ft, giving 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 148mph. More importantly, you"re looking at 113mpg, 49g/km of CO2 and some 26-miles of electric range (at speeds of up to 84mph).
