Lately, no prep racing has been taking over as every drag nut’s favorite iteration of the sport. And for good reason. When you take things like sticky mystery substances and other assorted traction voodoo out of the mix, it levels the playing field. It also makes track racing about as close to street racing as you can get, albeit in a much safer, controlled environment. But if you can pedal a big-power Chevy S-10 down a no prep track successfully, that deserves more than a little kudos.Such is the case with a guy named Flacco, who hot shoes his twin 85mm turbo, 7.0-liter LSX-powered Chevy S-10 past a host of tough competition on a regular basis. And he does so in two different classes – King of the Tailgate and the 29-inch tire division. But even with 1,600+ horsepower and little weight over the rear tires, he has no problem laying waste to most all comers.Despite the lack of a prepped surface, this square-body Chevy S-10 flat hooks. Over and over again, with little to no drama. Which is a true testament not only to this pickup’s ingenious chassis voodoo, but also Flacco’s superior driving skills. It’s enough to slingshot the little truck past a first-gen Camaro, then a Foxbody Mustang. And mostly everyone else that lines up against him.The fun doesn’t last forever, sadly. Our pickup meets its match against a 2JZ-powered Nissan 240SX dubbed “White Rice.” But that thing reportedly pumps out 2,000+ hp with a massive single turbo and runs in the 6s, so there’s that. In the meantime, let’s just appreciate this sweet S-10 for the badass no prep monster that it really is!Join the LS1tech forums today!Tags: Chevrolet, Chevy, Drag Racing, Flacco, no prep, S-10, Video
