We at LS1Tech love (legal) drag races of all kinds. Whether it’s a new Camaro taking on a Z06, or two wildly modified, Chevy-powered hot rods, we’re big fans of it all. That being said, there’s something special about two classic American muscle cars roaring down the strip in spectacular fashion. This video by TheBayAreaRacing brings us the epitome of old-school cool. This grudge race between a bright-green Chevy dubbed “TheGreenGo” Malibu and a sinister-looking “Big Tire Nova” is one of the most exciting we’ve seen lately. Despite the video only showing two or three runs down the strip, it’s all the action happening trackside that makes it exciting. The owners or “shot-callers” of each car can be seen hustling and rising the wager for each drag race, quickly betting up to $2,000 per run. Each time the two Chevys line up for a run we’re able to see these incredible builds up close, and appreciate the time and effort (and money) that went into these things.Once they blast down the strip for the final run the intensity gets kicked up a notch when one of the racers does something completely unexpected. What is it? You’ll have to watch to find out!Tags: Chevy, Drag Race, Malibu, Nova
