Aston Martin has launched a special edition version of the DBX, which pays tribute to the Scottish single malt whisky, Bowmore. Production of the Aston Martin DBX Bowmore Edition will be limited to just 18 units, with each example costing £219,950. First deliveries are expected to arrive at the end of next year.
Cosmetic revisions over the standard DBX include optional black brake calipers, smoked alloy wheels and new copper-coloured inlays for the SUV’s side strakes, which the brand says is a nod to Bowmore’s copper-pot stills. The SUV’s bodywork is also finished in a unique paint colour, called Bowmore Blue.
The DBX’s interior also features a range of styling tweaks inspired by the Islay distillery. For example, the dashboard and centre console features copper foil detailing, while the car’s cup holders and door steps are made from polished copper, recycled from the original Bowmore still.

Two upholstery options are also available – Obsidian or a blend of Copper Tan and Obsidian – both of which are accented with Bowmore tweed in the centre console and door pockets. Buyers will also get a range of specific accessories to match the car, such as a Bowmore tweed picnic blanket and a branded leather holdall.
Each owner will also be invited on a 170-mile road trip around Scotland, where they’ll visit Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, before boarding a ferry to Islay to visit the Bowmore distillery. Once there, each buyer will have the chance to hand fill their own bottle of 39-year-old Bowmore, straight from the cask.
Like the standard DBX, the Bowmore Edition is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, which develops 542bhp and 700Nm of torque – enough for a 0–62mph time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 181mph. The unit sends drive to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
