It’s finally happening. Someone is swapping a V8 into a Toyota Prius and it is glorious. This is like the holy grail of absurd engine swaps. It’s a master stroke of trolling the automotive community. The Prii lovers will balk and howl at the desecration of their fuel-sipping idol. The performance guys will gnash their teeth in a fury as the most popular powerplant in the world finds it’s home in the eco friendly bowels of the Prius. There is no greater irony, and for that reason, this might be my favorite swap of all time. All the info from Facebook says is this:Rick White’s LS1 Prius Project – Yep, we are putting an LS1 in a Prius and of course converting it to rear wheel drive. 4L60E automatic transmission. He wants to keep it stock appearing down to the factory wheels. Rick hauled this car all the way down to us from Boston for the conversion.Does anyone have any more information on this V8 Prius? I can’t think of a better place for this build to documented than in the forums of LS1Tech.Update! Rick White, the owner of this awesome project is in the forum thread here. He says it should have some 800 horsepower and run 9s when he’s done with it.<br /> #gallery-2 { margin: auto; } #gallery-2 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-2 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-2 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */ <br style="clear: both" /> <br style="clear: both" /> <br style="clear: both" />
