This 4th generation Chevrolet Camaro looks like a drag strip beast and it is, blasting down the track in the low 9-second range at nearly 150 miles per hour. Best of all, it ran those awesome numbers on a slick track, struggling for traction and still getting near the 8-second range. The Orange CamaroThe 4th generation Chevrolet Camaro in the video above comes to us from the Vengeance Racing YouTube channel, so as you might imagine, the Georgia-based GM tuning shop built this beast.Under the bright orange hood is a 370-cubic inch iron block V8 fitted with a 91-millimeter single turbocharger. The power from that boosted mill is sent to the rear wheels by means of a built TH400 transmission, a high-stall torque convertor and a Moser 12-bolt rear end. Also, this Camaro has a parachute, a roll cage, skinny front tires and sticky rear racing tires, with a big cowl induction hood and an exhaust outlet poking through the body ahead of the front tire.It looks fast, and it is fast.Boosted ActionThe video begins with a quick dyno pull by the Hugger Orange 4th generation Camaro. While we don"t get to see the numbers, we get to hear the engine scream at wide-open-throttle.Next, we head to the track, where we watch the turbocharged Camaro make a handful of hard passes down the quarter mile. Even with the driver launching around idle, with very little brake boosting, traction proves to be an issue as the car heads down track. The driver has to chase it around a bit, but each run is strong and smooth. We even get to watch an in-car view of the driver, showing how little he is doing as the car slips and slides down the track. We don"t get to see any times or slips, but we know that the best time for the day by this sweet Camaro was a 9.19 at 149 miles per hour.Crank up your speakers and enjoy!Join the LS1tech forums today!Tags: 4th gen Camaro, camaro, Drag Racing, turbocharged, Video
