If you want the best bang for your buck when it comes to performance modifications, the GM small block is basically unbeatable. The LS family of engines has built a reputation for reliability and power that is unmatched in the market. But we’ll be damned if GM hasn"t managed to create a new monster with the LT4 engine. The supercharged V8 found under the hood of the new ZL1 Camaro is one of the most powerful factory motors in muscle car history. However, that hasn’t stopped Vengeance Racing has a cheap way for you to push into Hellcat territory.Cleetus McFarland has documented the entire thing for YouTube. During the recent Streetcar Takeover in Atlanta, Vengeance Racing showed off just how easy it is to make big power from GM"s new darling by upgrading a brand new ZL1 Camaro. Vengeance used the simplest supercharger upgrade that exists, swapping the pulley on the LT4. The real kicker here is that the new pulley is only marginally smaller, so it"s not a drastic boost increase. To help the enhanced supercharger breath, Vengeance also put in a cold air intake. With a quick tune and a pair of runs on the dyno to smooth things out, this new ZL1 gained 100 horsepower over stock, at the wheels. And the crazy part is how cheap this entire upgrade was. The pulley kit and cold air intake are for sale right now from Vengeance for right around $600 for everything. Add a little cash for a tune and a few dyno runs, and you now have a Camaro with around 750 horsepower at the crank, all for less than a set of good tires.Sign us up.Tags: Aftermarket, LT4, Supercharger, upgrade, Vengeance Racing
