John Hennessey is not one to stand idly by while someone anyone builds a more powerful car than him.Which is why before Dodge even revealed the Demon, he gave us the Exorcist (get it?) a Camaro ZL1 with nigh-on 1000bhp from its modified, supercharged V8. Equipped with the optional drag radials, John claims 0-60mph in less than three seconds and a quarter-mile in less than ten seconds. And this is what it looks (and sounds) like on a dyno, where it puts down 959 rear-wheel horsepower and makes many very interesting noises. All of them excellent. The Exorcist comes as a ten-speed auto or six-speed manual, unlike the Demon which is auto only. This one"s the latter. The former adds $9,950 to the $55,000 conversion. If you don"t want to go to the trouble of supplying your own donor ZL1, Hennessey will sell you the whole thing for $119,000. Dodge expects the Demon to come in at less than $100k - it does 0-60 in a frankly unbelieveable 2.3 seconds and is said to run a quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds.Read more about the Demon here, and the Exorcist here.Share this page: FacebookTwitterGoogle+WhatsAppMailtoCopy link
