There is an event before the 24 Hours of Daytona called Roar Before The 24". It is a test, and in it, drivers take to the track to max our their rather delightful racing cars.Fittingly, Lamborghini has just released some footage of its driver, Spencer Pumpelly, going flat-out in his Lamborghini Huracan GT3 (which races in the GTD class), at this test, which took place earlier in the month. He"s driving the #16 Change Racing Huracan.Designed and built in conjunction with Dallara (as with the Super Trofeo Huracan), the Huracan GT3, remember, was revealed around this time last year. It takes over from the Gallardo GT3, and features many good things. Things like an aluminium-carbon bodyshell, a high performance radiator, a new front diffuser, an adjustable rear wing, really quite massive brakes, and a six-speed gearbox driving the rear wheels. There is one other good thing this Huracan features: a 5.2-litre V10 kicking out an unspecified, but presumably huge, amount of horsepower. Reckon on 600bhp.And as you"ll soon find out by clicking the video above, it sounds completely excellent. Few things can top a wall of race-bred, naturally aspirated V10 noise. So, without further ado, turn up your speakers, and revel in two-and-a-half minutes of Pumpelly going flat-out at Daytona, ahead of this weekend"s race.
