We can"t remember who said it it was either an existentialist or Gary Lineker but in life, sometimes you have to go backwards in order to move forwards. The same is true in drifting. Actually, you"re rewarded heavily for doing so.See, drifting is judged through many parameters (entry speed, line clipping, angle and presentation) but one thing that instantly separates you from being a dorifto peasantu" to dorifto kingu" is the skilful manoeuvre of the reverse entry drift. To the uninitiated, this is where you attack the corner so hot, you over-rotate the car on entry and end up going into the apex looking over your rear shoulder. Heading backwards across the track looks like you"re having an accident, but with a copious amount of throttle and a lot of skill, sometimes you can bring the car back round to clip the apex and continue into a buttery, smokey slide. It"s an incredibly hard thing to do, but when it"s done right it doesn"t half look good. Just hit play on the video above to see what we mean. It"s a collection of some of the best backwards entry drifts to grace the internet. And if you"re not impressed by the driving doyenism, the cars should do the trick. Especially the naughty Audi A4 that does the craziest four-wheel drifts on the planet. We like that car a lot.Share this page: FacebookTwitterGoogle+WhatsAppMailtoCopy link
