The world according to Hennessey, it seems, is dictated by one fundamental philosophy: add much power.Specifically, turbo power. News has reached TG that the Texan tuner has taken the already quite powerful Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and added a couple of custom built turbos to its V8.The two new blowers help bump up the ZL1"s power to quite considerable highs and a significant amount of gleeful turbo whoosh, judging by the video above. How much power? A heck of a lot more than the amount Chevy managed to squeeze out of the factory ZL1. Hennessey"s Camaro now pumps out 1,145bhp or 1,300bhp at the flywheel, we"re informed. For reference, the standard ZL1 is good for 580bhp, 556lb ft of torque, a 0-60mph time of 3.9s and top speed of 184mph.We suspect some additional tuning has gone into this modified Hennessey engine, which was running at 20psi boost pressure and fuelled on race-grade petrol. If 1,145bhp is just a little too wild for your tastes though, fear not: he"s also announced a package for the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcat" versions. These cars don"t forget, already produce 707bhp. In Hennessey"s world, the 6.2-litre V8 is twin-turbocharged to produce 1,032bhp, 987lb ft of torque, and a 0-62mph time of 2.7secs.Watch the video above. And thank heavens for the sheer strength of dyno car straps.
