Straight-line speed isn"t really the point of the Nissan GT-R, but that hasn"t stopped it becoming a firm favourite among drag racers. We don"t know what modifications Bahraini tuning company EKanooRacing has made to this particular GT-R, but from the speed of it, we suspect that beneath its mostly unadorned body is something that bares little resemblance to the standard car. Which, remember, is no slouch to begin with. EKanooRacing claims what you"re watching here is a new world record for a Nissan GT-R over a quarter-mile. The time is 7.168 seconds with a trap speed of 209mph. The getaway is especially ferocious, and the driver struggles to keep it within its lane all the way to the line. Interestingly, the video"s description promises the tuning company is "just now scratching the surface of what this new setup is capable of". Presumably the next step is some kind of time-bending warp drive.
