A couple of months ago, Top Gear magazine awarded McLaren the prestigious title of Manufacturer of the Year". To demonstrate why, Ollie Marriage made a beeline for the TG test track with a 570S, a 675LT and a P1 GTR in tow. All in the name of consumer journalism, we swear.Naturally, his consumer journalism involved some thorough testing. And oversteer. You can read all about it here.The gist of the exercise was to show how far McLaren has come since their maiden outing with the MP4-12C all the way back in 2011. It was a cracking car, especially considering it was the company"s first attempt, but a lack of refinement and character left it streets behind the likes of the Ferrari 458.However, fast-forward a handful of years and McLaren has begun to get the hang of things. The 570S represents a breakthrough in terms of feel, performance and has a distinct personality.
