Wanted, Torque converter cover for 79 Firebird/Trans Am
Believed to be the same for all Pontiac / olds powered V8 70-81 birds?
WHY?

Same as GTO and Lemand acording to this ebay listing:-
65-79 GTO LEMANS FIREBIRD AUTO TRANSMISSION CONVERTER COVER | eBay
Although the end year is 79, you mentioned it would fit up to 81, so not sure if its the right part, although in the listing it does go to 81, just not in the title.

That looks like the right part - just hoping to find one in this country.
I have paid far to much in duty and shipping stuff recently!!

indeed, although Graeme and I have known each other for many years but his help and advise is always appreciated.
I have other friends who are envious of the SR's forum but won't join up due to geography. I guess they have a point - its often a long haul for us, but they are 45mins further away.
