This week"s Throwback video feature a television commercial for the "Spirited" 1976 Chevrolet Camaro a car that could lift America.This fairly unusual commercial shows a guy cruising along a deserted road in a 1976 Camaro as he seemingly follows a plane through the sky.The narrator talks about the Camaro"s strong points how it is a driver"s car, low in profile and wide between the wheels. The car is so great, in fact, that you don"t just give someone a ride in the "76 Camaro, you give them a lift.This commercial doesn"t talk about power, suspension, interior quality or, really, anything other than the fact that it rides as good as it looks. However, back in 1976, the "spirit" of an American car played a big role with some buyers and this spot surely resonated well with the folks celebrating our Bicentennial.Crank up your speakers and enjoy!
