Understandably, we"re pretty excited about the new Aston Martin Vantage. Granted we don"t know much about it yet, but early signs are promising. Early signs like how gracefully it drifts in the hands of one of the most exciting drivers on the F1 grid, for example. Young Max certainly seems to know his way around Rockingham, doesn"t he? Watch (and listen) as he gives the new Vantage a bit of stick, while Aston"s chief dynamics engineer Matt Becker reveals a few details ahead of its official reveal next week. In the DB11, AMG"s 4.0-litre biturbo V8 makes 503bhp, 498lb ft of torque and will record a 0-62mph time of four seconds flat. In the video, Becker says the Vantage has "just over" 500bhp, around 505lb ft of torque and that it will weigh about 1,530kg dry, which he says makes it a hefty 200kg lighter than a DB11 V12. He doesn"t directly reference the engine, but that noise can come from nothing else, no? These are all good numbers. Enjoy the video and come back on November 21st for proper pics and all the information. Share this page: FacebookTwitterGoogle+WhatsAppMailtoCopy link
