We thought we"d seen everything but we"ve definitely never seen this before: not one but two Funny Cars going ka-boom halfway down a drag strip mid-race. This bizarre occurrence happened to Matt Hagan and Robert Hight, before crossing the finish line at the Amalie Motor Oil Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida last weekend. Now, the most powerful dragsters are, in essence, bombs: four-wheeled canisters packed with highly combustible liquid, to be detonated in an explosion hopefully sending said canister careening at great speed along a quarter-mile strip of tarmac. The thing with bombs, as this video aptly proves, is that sometimes they go off at the wrong time. Or in the wrong direction. And, sometimes together.
