Someone spent a lot of time and money ruining this poor Chevy SSR.Remember Disney’s Cars? Well, imagine the following: What if, instead of computer animation, it used live actors? What if instead of a Pixar film, it was a SyFy Original Movie? And, what if, instead of a fun-filled, family-friendly romp, it was a terrifying hellride that made you want to sleep with the lights on?That’s likely where you’d find this…uniquely modified 2005 Chevrolet SSR that we found for sale on CarGurus. Look, we don’t think we’re ruffling any feathers when we say that the SSR styling is an acquired taste. Apparently, someone decided that the SSR needed even more styling, and spent a lot of time and a lot of money transforming this thing into a B-movie prop. The grille is made up of individual teeth, the headlights have been replaced with reptilian eyes, and it can “breathe” through its hood-mounted nostrils, thanks to some Co2 tanks in the bed. According to the seller, this monstrosity, dubbed the “DinoSSauR,” won second place in the 2016 Houston Art Car Parade. We’d hate to see who came in third.Even though we’re not the biggest fans of the Chevy SSR styling, we won’t say that nothing of value was lost. Not content to ruin just any SSR, the builder of the DinoSSauR opted to modify a relatively rare 6.0 manual model. Available only in 2005 and 2006, the 6.0 manual SSRs were good for 400 horsepower, making them the most powerful SSRs the factory ever produced. #gallery-2 { margin: auto; } #gallery-2 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-2 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-2 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */ <br style="clear: both" />
