As an American car owner I went for the first option.

1. Aston Martin DB9 (used)
2. Holden HSV (ok I admit, it's American powered)
3. Lotus Exige

I can't think of a single brand new UK-market car that I'd want to spend £30,000 on. If I was buying a classic it would be rare and Italian...

Lancia Gamma Coupe

Needing a modern-ish car that I can use every day and comfortable over long distances I would probably end up with something like a Honda Legend, Toyota Camry, or if I was feeling brave a LHD Lancia Kappa V6 Coupe imported from Europe.

None of these cars are anywhere near £30k!
