"The set-up is astonishing. There"s so much feel through the chassis, the steering is so beautiful to use, you always know precisely where you are with it. You can take it to the limit how ridiculous is that in a car with a Nomad"s worth of downforce working on it? The speeds are outrageous, just bananas, but the GTR is so talkative and engaging you can use everything it"s got, rely on the whiff of understeer to let you know the car is working hard"So we opined when we got the chance to drive the McLaren P1 GTR at last year"s Top Gear Speed Week. Following an instruction lap from none other than Bruno Senna, TG"s Ollie Marriage strapped into Woking"s 986bhp track monster and settled in for the ride of his life. Now, it seems, you can join that exclusive club. Assuming you have access to a significant chunk of money. A rather pristine McLaren P1 GTR has just popped up for sale in Denmark, and it"s frankly gorgeous. The P1 GTR is of course, McLaren"s ultimate version of its P1 hypercar, replete with a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 matched to an electric motor. It sits on lower fixed suspension, a monster fixed rear wing (with 400kg of downforce), a new centrally mounted exhaust clad in titanium and Iconel and a wider front track. That allows for a bigger front splitter, which joins new aero blades aft of the front wheelarches, and an additional side panel.Wheels? Quick release 19-inchers shod in Pirelli slicks. Performance? Lots. And then some. There"s 986bhp in total, more than 664lb ft of torque, and a 0-62mph time of under 2.8 seconds. Plenty to keep you busy, then. All the original McLaren P1 GTRs were offered up for 2m, so this particular GTR"s asking price of 3.2m shows a considerable increase. But then it"s one of only a handful of cars made (around 40), and, well, it"s a yellow, near-1000bhp track-toy with a wing.McLaren has also confirmed to TG.com that the lucky new owner is still eligible for the remaining P1 GTR driver programme events, and McLaren Special Operations will still run and maintain the car if requested (assuming the new buyer wants them to).To top it all off, it"s showing just delivery mileage, meaning it"s practically brand, spanking new. Have a click through to the listing here, and then find 3.2m quickly.
