I think it will generate a lot of interest and some wealthy fan will pay a lot of money for the last piece of official Pontiac history from the movie. Let's face it, it was a huge Hollywood success that was only 2nd to Star Wars in 1977.

They would probably use a Mustang like they did when they made the new knight rider, well a TV series, think it was called Team Knight Rider or TKR

Some films/TV series are better left alone.

With the possible exception of Gone in 60 seconds. The original was ok, but the re-make was better in my opinion.
