i think rally cars back then often had mat black bonnets

Yep, matt black bonnets were all the rage back then.....Made the most mundane cars go at least 2 MPH faster!

A freind back then had an avenger painted in the style of Starkers & Crutch..... Didn't go faster and didn't pull the girls either!

did the same to my first car. cos i bent it and the scrap yard replacement bonnet was the wrong colour. also put 2 spot lights on it but it still would not go any farster

Oh yes.....Go faster spot lights.....They increased drag as well! Had some on my MK3 escort along with some 'Knight rider' sequentiall lights in the grill!
