1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback, stickered up as an homage to the car raced by Dan Gurney in the 1963 Daytona 500 NASCAR race. Should have big number zeroes on the doors and roof to complete the look.

Only 27,000 miles, MOT until March 2018. Tax exempt.

Fully registered in the UK, only imported in January 2017.

352 (5.8l) big block V8 mated to the three speed "Cruise-o-matic" automatic transmission. The exhaust is straight through with just a small glass pack - it sounds incredible!

New wheels and tyres, 15x8 front and 15x10 rear. They only just fit but they complete the look of the car. The rears rub a bit on big bumps and the fronts rub a bit on full lock. Power steering is classic "one-finger" light.

The interior is in amazing condition, like new, with only a damaged rear dome light and sunvisors in need of repair letting it down. It has black vinyl bench seats with gold lap belts. Heater works, wipers work, 12v socket works, AM radio works!

The paint on the top half of the car is likely all original, with lots of fantastic patina. The lower half of the car has had some work and not-so-great paintwork from previous rust repairs. The rear arches do have some rust and filler in them - repair panels can be bought from the states and I would expect these would need replacing within a couple of years. The rear inner arches have also been cut to accommodate the wide rear wheels, I was going to repair this but thought there"s not much point until the entire rear arches need replacing.

Previous owner to me undersealed the entire car, and rebuilt the brakes and carburettor. I bought it as a light rolling project and have done quite a bit of work over the past few months, with lots of new parts including a new fuel pump, door seals (still need fitting), washer reservoir and pump, headlights, battery tray, air filter, flasher relay, dash cluster voltage regulator, radiator hoses+cap, drive belts, fuel sender gasket, and oil+filter. I"ve kept receipts for all the bits I"ve bought and fitted. The car has some paperwork relating to it"s importation, but nothing from it"s time in the states unfortunately. If you don"t know already, you can buy almost anything for these from the states and the parts are actually really cheap! So this car will be very easy to maintain and upgrade if desired.

The car runs very well, however there a couple of niggles that still need sorting. The auto-choke doesn"t work so I"ve been holding the choke flap down to start it (it then runs without it after 10 seconds and then you leave it a few minutes to warm up before driving). There are a couple of small oil leaks, but what old car doesn"t have them! The horns and dash lights are also not working.
