For sale is my Ford Fairlane coupe.Owned by me,a lifelong American car fanatic,and mechanic at http://www.redlineamericanmuscle.co.uk , for the last 5 years,and prior to that my friend owned it for about 12 years.I have history going back to 1989,when it was imported from Florida.Lots of receipts and documents for work done over the years.Its had brakes,clutch,front coil springs done before i got it.I have recently overhauled the front suspension and steering,with the addition of an Addco 1 inch front sway bar,poly bushes to control arms,KYB gas shocks all round,and I have a rear leaf spring polybush kit to be fitted.Handling has been vastly improved by these mods.<br />
Further work was completed by me on the engine.New timing chain and gears,water pump,hoses,core plugs,an aluminium 2 barrel intake and carb.New chrome air filter,distributor cap and rotor.Distributor is converted to electronic.<br />
Original 260 cubic inch V8.<br />
3 speed manual column shifter.<br />
The engine bay has been painted and detailed.<br />
Has a custom made duel exhaust system.<br />
The charging system has been updated to an alternator,with a built in regulator.<br />
Rear window has the addition of an Australian metal louvre.<br />
Car comes with 2 sets of wheels,the chrome steelies,with near new white band tyres,and the brand new 80 spoke " knock off " set with new BFG white lettered tyres.<br />
Radio is a later digital retro look one.<br />
Outer headlamps have been converted to more powerful ones.<br />
Interior is in good overal condition .<br />
Bodywork is very solid,and paint is generally good,but not concours.<br />
All the stainless trim is excellent,and the front bumper,and some of the trims were rechromed.<br />
Mileage is 89000 odd.<br />
Car is taxed,which is free,and Moted till the summer.<br />
Car gets a huge amount of interest where ever it goes,and won best in show in 2015.<br />
Could be turned into a Thunderbolt look a like,or used for historic saloon car racing with work.<br />
Drives and stops straight and true,and is a pleasure to cruise in.<br />
A rare car,and a bit different to having a Mustang,like everyone else,and somewhat cheaper than the prices being asked for them!!<br />
A reluctant sale,so I want it to go to a good home!!<br />
