Door mirrors

Nice work. Are you pleased with it?
Is the wiring work all done and motor working as you wanted?

pleased with it so far. drivers side works. passenger side not started yet, was going to start today but went to work instead

got the passenger side off. oddly ford made the mechanism behind the mirror differently. so i can't just copy the bracket on the drivers side

passenger side is a bit trickier. only one bolt fixing which had to be moved back 1/2 inch and i made a bracket to fix the motor to
its now finished and working.

Good work! Nice problem solving.

That's great you fixed it.
Perhaps an ideal part to 3D print?

Yes, an easy part to print but a skilled man with a Milling Machine can keep the old trades alive. I'm all for new tech but we shouldn't loose our creative skills with tools either mechanical or by hand.

thanks for the kind comments
i did not keep track of the many hours it took to machine , there is no drawing of the thing i made it up as i went along. it could be scanned now if anybody needed one. other fords of the period used the same mirror/housing [ with a different mounting post]
