For sale is my beast of a pickup truck, a 1967 Chevrolet El Camino, with hidden LPG system and Air Suspension. I m putting this up for sale as I fancy a bit of a change after a few years of ownership. I bought it two years ago with no MOT and needing some work on the engine and a few other bits. Since owning it I ve fitted air ride suspension, the LPG kit, fitted a bigger cam and new lifters along with generally fixing things and tidying it up a bit.

Engine:
It has a 350ci (5.7 litre) V8 from a 1971 Camaro putting out about 300bhp, thanks to a bigger cam and some other fancy parts like an Edelbrock manifold, MSD ignition and tubular headers. One downside of a big V8 is fuel economy. I have remedied this by fitting a 90 litre LPG tank an R90E vaporiser and 2x BLOS LPG mixers which, unlike other mixers don t restrict power. I have fitted the tank where the factory fuel tank was under the bed and put the LPG filler behind the factory fuel filler cap. There is a 30 litre reserve fuel tank under the bed at the front too for emergencies, however I always run it on LPG, including starting. All this is mated to a 3 speed column shift automatic gearbox which changes smoothly and can be locked in gear. The car comes with the old tank which can be refitted if you wish.
Suspension:
Under my ownership I have given this car a full overhaul of the suspension. The previous owner had fitted a brand new rear axle and rear suspension and front springs, however I felt that It needed to sit a little lower down, whilst still being usable. I imported a RideTech air suspension kit from the USA, costing over 3000. It has 4 corner air bags which are all completely adjustable via a hidden controller in the glove box (you can also use your phone as a remote if you fit the optional Bluetooth receiver), meaning you can move it side to side or slam it on command. It has 3 pre-set heights, plus a height on start feature where, if you dropped it right down it will lift itself up when you turn it on! I also specified the uprated FOX shock absorbers from RideTech, which have adjustable rebound. The car also has genuine 1970s Daisy-Mag wheels which are powder coated in battleship grey to complete the look.

It got an advisory for play in the steering drag link so that may need replacing this year although it feels ok. It also comes with a brand new set of top and bottom ball joints which I imported from the US.

Body:
On the outside she is totally standard. There s not really any rust on any of the panels (no more than surface, anyway) and it has a great level of authentic patina. The car was imported from San Francisco in 2007 and in my ownership its never seen salt or very much rain at all- it lives in my lock up and only comes out on sunny days. The chassis is totally mint and has never been welded anywhere. What I love most about its condition is that it s still a usable truck that you can fill up with garden rubbish or a few motorbikes and not worry about scratching the paint work. That and people being annoyed when I say I m not going to paint it!

Interior:
Again, as with the outside it has the standard interior. A bench seat in the front with room for three is very comfy and there s plenty enough room behind the seats for storage. It currently has no headlining as it was all torn when I got it. I do have the ribs that support it, still. I have fitted a few gauges to make sure the car is running correctly and safely; an AutoMeter Oil pressure gauge, an AEM wideband lambda gauge, AEM Temperature gauge and an LPG level gauge, coming to over 400 in gauges alone!

I am also open to possible swaps and money my way, something sporty from 70s/80s/90s, try me!
