Stardate 31st August 2345, I emerged from the ship..........sorry wrong blog!!
19th February 2012
With BM now back on the road it was time to venture out into the big wide world of shows and meets, as I didn't have enough cash to go on the breakfast run, I thought the local meet at Sidlesham would be a good start. This particular show also has a free Autojumble, so thought this would be a good way to earn some cash. So I got up uber early and loaded the back up with various automotive junk, thinking someone might actually want some of it, and offski I went, all by myself because wifey and boy were still snoring!!
I was one of the first to arrive, so got a good space, and set up my wares. Not long after the cars started turning up and it was a fairly good turnout with about 40 cars on show, including a very nice white 60's Mustang, Mk1 Escort van, Mk2 Escort RS 2000 and our very own Jennifer in her Yellow Mk1 Capri (Pictures in the gallery section).
Before long BM had got quite a crowd around him, so various demonstrations of lights, horns etc ensued, until a well dressed gentleman came up and pronounced 'Does Pete know you are F*cking about with his motor'!! He couldn't quite accept the fact that it is mine now. This to be honest does not bother me, because I know it is something that I will have to contend with as long as I own him.
Autojumble was a disaster with the only sale being a British Leyland steering wheel sold for ?5 to Jen's partner Paul for his mini pick up, and even that was on an I.O.U.hwell: Otherwise was a great early season show, and I thoroughly advise anyone who is free on the third sunday of the month to come along and have a look, even if you don't bring a classic.
