The V versions of the Cadillac ATS and CTS are designed to be badass American performance cars. They certainly look the part with their aggressive bodywork, big wheels, and quad exhausts. The Carbon Black sport package will make that image – and the appearance of the regular ATS and CTS – even bolder for 2017.That adds touches such as a Black Chrome grille, dark After Midnight wheels, and carbon fiber elements which include a more aggressive front splitter, a rear diffuser, composite rocker panel extensions, and a taller, body-color rear spoiler to the ATS-V coupe and sedan. The cockpit receives low-gloss carbon fiber trim, a sueded steering wheel and shifter, and RECARO front seats.Regular ATS two- and four-doors, which now come in Luxury and Premium Luxury trim, that are outfitted with the Carbon Black sport package come with the same grille, wheels, interior accents, and RECAROs as their V cousins. They also get black side window moldings, a V-Series spoiler, and door handles painted to match the body, which can be covered in one of four colors.Much of the same that goes for the 2017 ATS-V goes for the 2017 CTS-V, although there are some exceptions. For instance, adding the Carbon Black sport package to it means the rear spoiler is made out of exposed carbon fiber. Also, the front RECAROs are optional, not standard like the V-Series performance seats. The regular CTS, now available in Luxury and V-Sport Premium Luxury configurations, gets pretty much the same inner and outer Carbon Black add-ons that the ATS does when it’s equipped with the same package. The V-Sport Premium comes standard with the RECARO seats, which are optional on the CTS Luxury model.Cadillac will fire up the production lines for the 2017 Cadillac ATS and CTS models – with or without the Carbon Black sport package – later this summer.
