i had one back in the day storker 9 if i rember right. 80 channels am/fm and 1/2 channel shift fitted on a slide mount, great bit of kit. left it in the car one night, not there in the morning.
Yeah, you can use a power amplifier connected between the output of the CB radio and the antenna to get more power and longer distances. I seem to recall the CB slang for that being "using boots" lol, meaning kicking out more power I guess. I am pretty sure that was and still might be illegal. I think UK CB is restricted to 4 Watts. But others tried fiddling with the actual CB itself to try and "tweak" more power out of it. But that is never a good idea as it can ruin the quality of the signal and can eventually damage the CB. A bit like running nitrous on a standard car I suppose haha
thanks for picture. mine also had a k40 mike good bit of kit
a mate had a rig that was 4 watt or 10 watt at the flick of a switch as built not modified also it had 120 channels upper and lower side band am/fm and 1/2 band shift, i really wanted one but could not find one
Ahh yeah, I remember the Ham International. And the K40. As far as I remember you could get K40 antennas and mics. There was also an antenna called the Firestick. It was almost as thick as a piece of hosepipe lol

Haha good point! Those were the days when we did communicate...we met and SPOKE to
each other. No messages via social media back then! Nobody had 500 friends, many of which they had never actually met! lol
