Cranleigh - Sun 13th August

We are booked in for the Classic Car Show at Cranleigh on Sunday 13th August. Always a really great turnout, with a mixture of english and american cars. In 2016 they had 1700 cars on display and over 5000 visitors on the day.
Always lots of stands and stalls with plenty to eat and drink too. They are still taking bookings for individual cars which costs £5 per car.
Mike Brewer is there hosting the show.

Thanks for posting. Have added that to the calendar.

Went to this one a few years ago, very good show, plenty of different makes and models to look at.

Darn it, I was looking at that and completly missed it. Thanks for finding and answering.

I spoke to Darren earlier, it was him there in his Saleen.

Must of changed booking then went twice event was growing both times a good event,

Hmmm, a few shows seem to be going this way, 'Crotch Coolers' monthly meet asks for pre 1990 cars but newer models are wecomed in the 'Public' parking area - Same field, just away from the main show area. I think if you go to an American themed car show then any year is accepted as the organisers know what's what. Another instance for me was when I took my 68 coupe to a Goodwood breakfast meet for a pre '66 (I think) meet and had to go in public parking. But when looking around the show area I saw quite a few post '66 cars - Why me? I guess the stewards were looking at reg plates unless it was someone they knew.

Anyway, point made, maybe this should be up for disscusion on another thread.

And its why we won't go. People in the public car park are less likely to respect the car they park next to than those who are similarly motivated in the car hobby.
If the organizers don't want the modern stuff, i won't go. It's their loss as in my observation the public like to see cars they can relate to via Current TV as much as the TV shows of old.
As long as the snobbery from the classic bunch carries on ( see my thread on Marston Meysey ) I'll happily leave them to stew amongst themselves!

Re Cranleigh..my truck is a 2004 F150 I sent in an application and have received a pass and show no.via email... nothing to lose by applying..

Enjoy who ever goes looks like good weather for you lot enjoy

Had a great day at Cranleigh on Sunday. Glorious weather and lots of fantastic cars to look at. The day did not start off very well for one car owner, who's Vauxhall caught fire just as he entered the display field and he had to ask a marshall to put out the fire with his extinguisher. Not the best way to enter a car show!

How badly damage was the vauxhal then?

anymore pictures of show?

I don't think that too much damage could have been done to the car, he had a for sale sign on the car later in the day for £3,700. There was a crack in the bonnet but couldn't see anything else as it was still covered with powder.

Bet that took some cleaning,
