Members" Meeting is increasingly the coolest of Goodwood"s repertoire of events. The 2019 instalment looks no different, with a handful of demonstration laps announced this week. Making the best noise not just in cars, but ever will be a high-speed run of BMW M1 Procars. Unofficially (but indisputably) the most magnificent sounding vehicle on the planet, a handful of them will lap Goodwood circuit in an attempt to recreate the magic of the one-make Procar series from 1979 and 1980. It ran on the same weekends as Formula 1, but unlike today, most of the F1 grid could also be found in the support race. Hans Stuck, who took part in both seasons, said: "The Procar race was usually better than the Grand Prix itself. I loved racing those cars, it was the best thing ever, incredibly competitive and those straight-six engines made a wonderful noise."
