Called road tax, but cars that pay no road tax still damage the roads as much as one that pay tax. We are taxed on fuel, so we should pay one tax or the other, not both. So I think they are still against the motorist, but in some places there are too many cars per house hold and not enough places to park so perhaps they are tacking that and being 'against the motorist'
I think it was aimed at the relentless speed camera expansion and merciless persecution with Police hiding behind hedges to catch the unwitting whilst other crimes that are less profitable are treated as insignificant.
True, it should not be done for profit making, but for safety. Many people complain about speed cameras, but if your not speeding they are no problem at all. They shouldn't be use to make revenue.
